Independent Contractor

What is an Independent Contractor?

An independent contractor, in general, is a self-employed person who offers services to the general public. They work for themselves, not for an employer. As a general rule, a worker qualifies as an independent contractor if the client can only control or direct the result of the work rather than the process. Independent contractors can specialize in a myriad of services, from plumbing to photography.
